Over the course of the year, our company has equipped, installed, and continues to maintain approximately 20 new stores for the chain.
It is worth noting that the modern convenience store format is one of the most dynamically growing segments in food retail globally, and Kazakhstan is no exception. In Magnum GO stores, core product categories are intelligently presented alongside a ready-to-eat food zone, a coffee area (mini-cafeteria), and a take-away format featuring hot dogs and sandwiches.
From a refrigeration engineering perspective, it is important to emphasize that despite their compact dimensions, these stores represent rather complex facilities when it comes to selecting technical solutions. This is due to the necessity of simultaneously addressing a number of challenging tasks.
In particular:
- Selection of the condensing unit for the remote refrigeration system. The client selected the Ecolite series condensing units from the German concern Bitzer. This series is perfectly suited for the convenience store format as it satisfies key operational requirements:
- Low noise levels: The stores are located within residential neighborhoods.
- Wide capacity regulation capabilities: This directly impacts energy consumption and extends the operational lifespan of the equipment.
- High reliability: The Bitzer semi-hermetic reciprocating compressor ensures stable operation across the entire refrigeration system. This is critical, as a single unit often services the entire store in convenience formats, meaning a breakdown poses a major risk of product spoilage.
- A clean, modern exterior appearance that blends seamlessly into residential environments without causing discomfort to nearby residents.
- Factory assembly in Germany, further enhanced by the installation of voltage monitoring relays to account for local power grid specifics, thereby increasing overall reliability and temperature stability.
- In addition to supplying the units, we implement turnkey solutions including the installation of electronic expansion valves (EEVs), control units, and a refrigeration dispatch system from the global industry leader, Danfoss.
Given the client's ambitious network expansion plans, the integration of advanced energy-saving technologies alongside remote monitoring and equipment control systems acts as a critical factor for business efficiency and reliability.
Naturally, ongoing maintenance and emergency service support for all stores are carried out by the dedicated service division of
Eurocold Service Ltd.
